Flatten the (Coronavirus) Curve Friday

Flatten the Curve Friday

Ask for a spirit of grace and supplication as you pray for the curve to flatten!

2 Corthinians 1:11

Join us in this work. Lend us a hand through prayer so that many will give thanks for the gift that comes to us when God answers the prayers of so many.

verses 8-10 tell us why they asked for the joining of prayer:

My brothers and sisters, we have to tell you that when we were in Asia the troubles we faced were nearly more than we could handle. The burdens we bore nearly crushed us. Our strength dwindled to nothing. For a while, we weren’t sure we would make it through the whole ordeal. We thought we would have to serve out our death sentences right then and there. As a result, we realized that we could no longer rely on ourselves and that we must trust solely in God, who possesses the power to raise the dead. 10 Miraculously, God, Himself delivered us from the cold hands of death. We again place our hope in Him alone, and we know He will deliver us.

Pray

Father, we thank you, you’re both mighty and merciful, we too as your people ask for the work of your delivering hand over this coronavirus. Deliver us from the evil of this hidden enemy and premature death, deliver our city (name your city) deliver our state (name your state) and together in unity of prayer, in one spirit, deliver our nation back to you.
We ask for a miraculous work of your hand over our nation; we plead the report of your atoning blood to speak across the state lines. We place our hope, our focus, and strength in the Holy Spirit and truth. We thank you and hold you to the integrity of your word that it shall not return void but will succeed in the matter in which it is sent for the greater glory of your name.

Isa 8:9 – Decree, listen closely Corona Virus, get ready… to be shattered!!!

Listen closely, even if you’re far away:
Get ready for battle—get ready to be battered;
get ready for battle—get ready to be shattered.

Isa. 1:28 – Decree the Corona Virus curve to be crushed, shattered, and ask for the warring angels to complete our petitions and prayers.

But those who arrogantly persist in doing wrong will be crushed.

Psalms 106:44

Nevertheless, He saw their great struggle, took pity on them,
and heard their prayers;

Romans 8:26

A similar thing happens when we pray. We are weak and do not know how to pray, so the Spirit steps in and articulates prayers for us with groaning too profound for words

Acts 12

but fervent and persistent prayer for him (Peter) was being made to God by the church.

Amazing! The Lord has sent His messenger to rescue

When Peter came to his senses, he said, “Now I know for certain that the Lord has sent His angel and has rescued me.

We too, friends, will know for certain we have been rescued by the Lord Jesus Christ.

Col 4:2-6 – Encouragement with purposes to remain constant & continue to pray.

Pray, and keep praying. Be alert and thankful when you pray.  And while you are at it, add us to your prayers. Pray that God would open doors and windows and minds and eyes and hearts for the word so we can go on telling the mystery of the Anointed, for this is exactly why I am currently imprisoned. Pray that I will proclaim this message clearly and fearlessly as I should.

Be wise when you engage with those outside the faith community; make the most of every moment and every encounter. When you speak the word, speak it gracefully (as if seasoned with salt), so you will know how to respond to everyone rightly.

The Lord be with your spirit. Grace be with you,

Simply Pray but Pray Now!

Your prayers need not be labored or lengthy or grandiose—for your Father knows what you need before you ever ask Him.

Your prayers, rather, should be simple, like this:

    Our Father in heaven,
        let Your name remain holy.
    Bring about Your kingdom.
Manifest Your will here on earth,
as it is manifest in heaven.
Give us each day that day’s bread—no more, no less—
    And forgive us our debts
as we forgive those who owe us something.
   Lead us not into temptation,
        but deliver us from evil.
    [But let Your kingdom be,
        and let it be powerful
        and glorious forever. Amen.

Courage

Hello friends,
This is David, pictured above. He was our Tour Guide during our recent 10 day trip to Israel. As we were traveling on foot from one site to the next, David suddenly stopped us on the side of the road. He began to explain that the battered bus pictured, is used to pick up the Jewish children every day for school; yet others in their surrounding area yell and throw rocks at them. He went on to say, this doesn’t stop the children or affect them from accomplishing their rightful place in the land and receiving an education. This picture has become a notable moment in my walk in the Holy Land. At our return the Lord etched this experience of courage by solidifying it in my spirit through His Word.

Let me explain: during a study I was completing by Stephen De Silva, it lead me directly to the words of Paul in Acts 20:22-24: And see, now I go bound in the spirit to Jerusalem, not knowing the things that will happen to me there, except that the Holy Spirit testifies in every city, saying that chains and tribulations await me. But none of these things move me; nor do I count my life dear to myself, so that I may finish my race with joy, and the ministry which I received from the Lord Jesus, to testify to the gospel of the grace of God.

The profound question De Silva was asking in his study is, “What are you bound to?” Could you answer that? He further went on to say: whatever we are bound to, is where we will find our strength to persevere in the face of the enemy’s schemes.

And we know, the enemy has schemes and sabotages, that often times sound like, toil, fear, or threats yet our God has a remedy, Courage.

Dreams. It shall be.

Job 33:15

In a dream, a vision of the night [one may hear God’s voice], When deep sleep falls on men while slumbering upon the bed.

I recently had a dream. When I was awakened I knew instantly it was from the Lord. You see, at times but not always, the Lord speaks to me in dreams in the same manner in which He speaks to me when I am awake. Let me explain: the Lord often speaks to me through the gifts He’s so graciously bestowed upon me -two of which are words of wisdom and words of knowledge. In my dream, I was inquiring of the Lord regarding two caution points that didn’t make sense in my mind and they left my spirit unsettled. After asking the Lord in the dream, He replied and answered, revealing a word of knowledge for each caution point.

When I have these types of dreams and especially if I am awakened from this type of dream, I know it is from the Lord and is about a current day issue. Rather, I should say, I have come to learn this is how He speaks to me in dreams. Certainly, I have other dreams too, some are bizarre pizza dreams, I’ve had instruction dreams, comfort dreams, some are imparting assurance He is with me, at times warning dreams, prophetic dreams often with symbolic meaning that have led to intercession, and even angelic dreams.

How about you: have you had any dreams lately? How is the Lord speaking to you?

Let’s look at few scriptures regarding dreams and learn how the Lord has spoken in dreams to those who have gone before us.

  • God said in a dream [Gen 20:6] God came in a dream to Abimelech [Gen 20:3]
  • God also came in a dream by night to Laban [Gen 30:24] The Angel of God said to me in a dream, Jacob and I said, “Here am I?” [Gen 31:11]
  • Now Joseph dreamed a dream. [Gen 37:5,6]
  • Then it came to pass, at the end of two full years, that Pharaoh had a dream; and behold, he stood by the river. [Gen 41:1]
  • At Gibeon the LORD appeared to Solomon in a dream by night; and God said, “Ask! What shall I give you?” [1Kings 3:5]
  • The prophet who has a dream, let him tell a dream; And he who has My word, let him speak My word faithfully. What is the chaff to the wheat?” says the LORD. [Jer 23:28]
  • I saw a dream which made me afraid, and the thoughts on my bed and the visions of my head troubled me. [Dan. 4:5]
  • Then, being divinely warned in a dream that they should not return to Herod, they departed for their own country another way. [Matt. 2:12]

Finally, when we read in the book of Acts we see that the Lord not only desires to give dreams but that He desires to continue to speak in our dreams. Perhaps even tonight, to you, friend.

Acts 2:17

‘And it shall be in the last days,’ says God,

‘That I will pour out My Spirit upon all mankind;

And your sons and your daughters shall prophesy,

And your young men shall see [divinely prompted] visions,

And your old men shall dream [divinely prompted] dreams;

When I was awakened from the dream, immediately I shared it with John, my husband. We prayed together regarding the dream as well as for our family about the word of knowledge that the Lord revealed, in the dream.

I had an unction in this dream that I was to share it with a specific person because of how they serve and minister to the Lord, noting to them to be on guard as the enemy can be subtle in his schemes. As the Lord in his grace would have it, I ran into this person that same day. I shared the dream simply out of sheer obedience explaining the word of knowledge over the two caution points, and beyond my human understanding the dream was confirmed. We were able to pray together, possibly sparring our dear friend from the schemes of the adversary, I believe. Now thanks be to God who always leads us in triumph in Christ, and through us diffuses the fragrance of His knowledge in every place. [2 Corth. 2:14]

I share this dream not to draw attention to myself but to reveal the heart of the Father through the presence of the Holy Spirit as we co-labor in all things unto Him. For the Father is all knowing and full of grace and truth. [John 1:14; John 12:49,50]

As we embark on learning that He is the one initiating, lavishing His love, and supplying an answer to our requests through dreams, we too can relate our dreams to hearing from the voice of God as we have read in the scriptures above. What we are truly learning is to respond to His voice as we search the matter out.

Proverbs. 25:2 says, It is the glory of God to conceal a matter, But the glory of kings is to search out a matter. Psalms 44:21 Would not God search this out? For He knows the secrets of the heart.

With that said, I’d like to touch on a few practical tips and key principals.

  • Write your dreams down.
  • Ask the Lord to illuminate light and truth. Many times as I am writing a dream out the Lord begins to enlighten me with the interpretation as well as bring scriptures to mind; you want to capture that on paper!
  • Use dates.
  • Draw pictures or symbols if you can’t find the right words for what you’ve seen in your dream.
  • Almost all dreams that are from the Lord are going to be dreams with a message for you such as encouragement, instruction, comfort, and impartation.
  • Almost all dreams are symbolic – a night parable, one might say.

Once when traveling out of town we stayed the night at a friend’s home and that evening the Lord gave me a dream for my friend. It highlighted the word, Ode. I had no idea of the meaning or ever recall seeing that word before. I looked it up using the Webster’s and Wikipedia and it proved to hit a love cord for her, the one it was intended for. I share that to say, the Lord is not trying to make it complicated nor should we. John 10:27 The sheep that are My own hear My voice and listen to Me; I know them, and they follow Me.

Fear is NOT of the Lord. If you are experiencing fearful dreams I would suggest either you are simply processing your own fears or anxieties through your dreams. Clue in on the subject matter of your dream and if you sincerely feel the same way during your awake hours, it’s likely revealing a fear. The other possibility is it could be a demonic attack in the night. Please know, above all, the enemy is a coward. That is one reason he attempts to come at night. You have been given power in the Name of Jesus to resist and rebuke your enemy, and as you do, it will lead you to gain peace.

Lastly, the Word of God is our source of truth and life that which supplies our spiritual nourishment. If the Lord is to convey a message in our dreams it will likely be confirmed alongside of His Word. If you want to hear from God we have 66 Books in the Bible. There you will learn the language of Heaven to earth.

Let us keep looking unto to Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith. Heb.12: 2

FAB: Feelings, Attitudes, Behavior

I don’t know where your opinion may be when you hear the word “emotions” but what I do realize is that we each can a variety of different views based on our upbringing, experiences, and circumstances alone. So, I visited brainy quotes and pulled up a few of some popular ones on emotions. As you read them ask yourself, which resonate as truth for me?

“I grew up in a culturally radical home, where strong emotions were forbidden.”

Lars von Trier

“I have a women’s body and a child’s emotions.”

Elizabeth Taylor

“Whether we like it or not, men and women are not the same in nature, temperament, emotions and emotional responses.”

Paul Getty

Well, I don’t know where your view may be in any of these quotes but what I do hope to offer you is a rational understanding of our three primary emotions. Love, Anger and Fear answering the questions; What do each of these emotions have in common? and Which truly are opposite?

To help us understand these emotions let’s think about “color.” The color you might find in a digital printer. The cartridge contains three primary colors red, yellow and blue and when you add black to these colors you get a full assortment of colors. The same is true with these emotions while they remain primary they are also under a vast range of emotions or what one would call feelings.

What do love, anger and fear have in common?

They each have movement. Love is the greatest force on earth! It is movement towards someone or something. We want to be with it, there is a desire that is present that seems to draws us to it. This is such a great time of year to plan BBQ with our friends or neighbors. Join in on sporting events. Or attend a family reunion. We will go to great distances and lengths to be with those we love. Once I feel the first hint of warmth in the air, I announce to my husband, John, we need to go golfing!

Anger

Many think anger is the opposite of love, it is not. Anger has movement in the same direction as love but with force. Let me clarify I am not talking about a hatred or violence here. When we read in scripture, “be angry and sin not” it is stating that anger in and of itself is not a sin. On the other hand, the bible has a lot to say about violence and how wrong and sinful that is. I am referring to a type of anger in which there is a passion present because you do care for someone and something. For instance, you might see this displayed toward the person choosing not to attend the family reunion. 🙂

A healthy anger always moves toward forgiveness.

We also need our anger to enforce our boundaries, morals and injustices.  You may feel this when you see a hungry child or view a wounded or stay animal. Maybe you’ve had the misfortune of having a personal belonging either stolen or threatened to be taken from you. Our anger becomes unhealthy, when we seek to use it for revenge.

Fear is the opposite of love.

Because none of us can love perfectly we fear. Even if you have any mixture of fear or even perceived fear we will move away. Fear generally has a focus, its concrete. I can tell you what I’m afraid of? Fear of public speaking, fear of snakes. The list can be endless.

The good news is the more we love the less we fear. I read this statement on a friends post, To love deeply, brings strength…to be loved deeply, courage. It’s simply stated yet incredibly profound. Personally, I feel the gravity of my courage being testing each time I read this quote knowing it will require me to risk courage to make a lasting and loving connection.

 Scripture Reference

Now may the Lord direct your hearts into the love of God and into the patience of Christ. 2 Thess. 3:5

Be angry, and do not sin: do not let the sun go down on your wrath, Eph 4:26

Be angry, and do not sin. Meditate within your heart on your bed, and be still. Ps.4:4

For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind. 2 Timothy 1:7
